US Exhibitions - Virginia Beach Convention Center, US |
For exhibitions on the East Coast of the U.S., many people first think of Washington DC, NYC and Orlando as the main exhibition venues. Virginia Beach which is nicely situated in Virginia Beach itself and only 15 minutes walk from the sea-front, offers an interesting venue. Below we look at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in more detail.
Virginia Beach is served by Norfolk International airport, Newport News airport and is also drive-able from Washington DC, making the town certainly accessible. The venue does tend to hold more domestic rather than International exhibitions, although the venue is certainly large enough such that it can accommodate large exhibitions. Within walking distance of the centre there are numerous accommodation choices including hotels, B&Bs and short-term rentals.
One large exhibition which recently took place at the venue was the 2008 American Bus Association (ABA) trade event and this brought in three thousand visitors to Virginia Beach. The venue is a sleeping giant in many ways, having in recent years gained in popularity.
The venue offers a number of services for exhibition organisers and these include high-speed Internet connections and IT support, catering facilities and high quality audio and visual capability in the main halls.
The venue in all offers one hundred and fifty thousand square feet of exhibition space and a two thousand plus space car park within its grounds. Located on 19th Street at number 1000, if you are driving in your can come into Virgnia Beach from a number of routes. The main road you will probably find yourself coming in on, is Interstate 64 which pretty much circles Virginia Beach and which you can easily get to the Virginia Beach Convention Center from.
For airport access, Newport News airport (also called Williamsburg International Airport) is supplied by airlines including US Airways, AirTran and Delta. The airport is a 50 minute drive from Virginia Beach sea-front and although that may seem like quite a distance for Europeans, 50 minutes drive is quite close in U.S. distances, in a country where everyone tends to drive.
Norfolk International Airport is served by all of the main U.S airlines including American Airlines, Delta, NWA, Continental airlines and US Airways. This airport also has its own conference centre and this can be helpful for those of you who always need to attend to business whilst you travel.
